Who Are We?
From humble sole trader beginnings to a medium sized registered NDIS provider in Geelong
Our founder Paul Sherry left his job as a Disability Support Worker at another Geelong NDIS provider in 2016 to start his own independent sole trader business: Venture Companion. Paul was driven by a need to make a change in the industry, specifically to bring compassion and personality to disability support. Venture Companion was founded on these values.
In October 2019, Venture Companion evolved into The Companion Group and officially registered as a company. With the 2020 pandemic, The Companion Group encountered many problems and enlisted the help of Saskia and Matthew to run the operations and finance of the new company. Together, The Companion Group weathered the storm and solidified its position in Geelong as a medium sized disability support and coordination provider.

Problem
The Disability Support and Social Services industry is by no means perfect, everyone who interacts with it finds something to improve on. At The Companion Group, we have found that the people that work in this industry can be burnt out, under appreciated, and mistreated. The 2020 pandemic showed that we are ESSNTIAL WORKERS and that in order to provide a good service to our participants, we must be treated with respect.
